    THE HIMALAYAN WOLF  SOURCE DRISHTI IAS ENGLISH The  himalayan wolf (canis lupus chanco ),  a prominent lupine predator , found across the himalayans, taxonomic status has been assessed for the first time in the international union for conservation of nature (UCN)'s red list. The animal has been categorised as  'vulnerable'  on the IUCN red list according to a data assessment done in june 2023. The IUCN red list assessment has also  flagged a  'continuing decline in area, extent and/or quality of habitat'  of himalayan wolves. Reasons for the decline  Habitat modification , encroachment and depletion of wild prey  populations are important drivers of this conflitct. the wolf is also  illegally hunted for trade  in its fur and body parts. it highlighted that  hybridisation with dogs  was an emerging threat to the himalayan wolf population in ladakh and spiti. Measures to enhance the protection of himalayan wolves  securing and resting healthy wild prey populations

  the government’s rooftop solar panel plan India's Finance Minister announced plans to supply power to one crore households using rooftop solar panels, saving households ₹15,000 annually. Households with monthly electricity consumption of less than 300 units will be able to install a mid-sized system with the government bearing the expense. The subsidy for rooftop solar systems will increase to 60%, with the rest financed by a private developer affiliated with a public sector enterprise connected to the Power Ministry. A mechanism of 'net-metering' allows surplus electricity produced by households to be sold back to the grid. India's Centre will push for solarisation instead of State power distribution companies. Only 12 GW out of an intended 40 GW of rooftop solar panels have been installed, and household rooftops account for only 2.7 GW. The subsidies will not be available for imported panels and must be more accommodative to States.

  देश का कथकली गांव 'अयिरुर' :- सोर्स दैनिक भास्कर  यहां ईसाई भी बाइबिल की कहानियों पर करते हैं मंचन; यहीं बन रहा देश का पहला कथकली म्यूजियम  केरल में स्थित है देश का पहला कथकली गांव 'अयिरुर' ....! इस गांव में हर साल कथकली फेस्टिवल आयोजित होता हैं। यहां 8 से 14 जनवरी के बीच 17 वां कथकली फेस्टिवल आयोजित होने जा रहा हैं। कथकली सीखने के लिए इस फेस्टिवल में हर साल 20 हजार बच्चे हिस्सा लेते हैं। दरअसल पहले इस गांव का नाम 'अय्यर ' हुआ करता था, जिसे बदल कर  पिछले ही साल ' अयिरुर कथकली ग्रामम ' कर दिया गया। इस गांव में 92 फीसदी लोगों को कथकली के बारे में संपूर्ण ज्ञान हैं। गांव एक पर्यटक स्थल भी बन रहा है। अयिरुर गांव में महादेव मंदिर है, जहां हर साल राष्ट्रिय त्यौहार भी मनाया जाता हैं। इसी त्योहार में कथकली को लेकर विशेष प्रदर्शन होते हैं। अयिरुर ग्राम पंचायत की अध्यक्ष अनिता कुरूप ने भास्कर को बताया कि गांव में एक कथकली म्यूजियम का निर्माण कार्य भी शुरू हो गया हैं, यह कथकली पर आधारित देश का पहला म्यूजियम होगा। यह म्यूजियम केरल सरकार के ' टूरिज्म
