Non-Permanent membership of India in United Nations Security Council background  India has been elected as a temporary member of the UN Security Council for the 8th time in 8 years. 193 countries of the General Assembly took part in the voting on Wednesday. 184 countries supported India. The US welcomed India's temporary membership of the Security Council. According to the United Nations Charter, India has been elected as a temporary member for two years. Ireland, Mexico, and Norway have also been elected provisional members along with India.  the Security Council?  It is an important part of the United Nations, it is also called the heart of the United Nations & police of the world. भारत तथा  सुरक्षा परिषद की अस्थाई सदस्यता पृष्ठ्भूमि  भारत 8 साल में 8वीं बार संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद का अस्थाई सदस्य चुन लिया गया है। बुधवार को हुई वोटिंग में महासभा के 193 देशों ने हिस्सा लिया। 184 देशों ने भारत का समर्थन किया। अमेरिका ने सुरक्षा परिषद में भारत की अस्थाई सदस्यता का स्वागत किया। संयुक्त राष्ट्र चार्टर के मुताबिक, भारत दो साल के लिए अस्थाई सदस्य चुना गया है। भारत के साथ आयरलैंड, मैक्सिको और नॉर्वे भी अस्थाई सदस्य चुने गए हैं।  सुरक्षा परिषद  क्या संयुक्त राष्ट्र का एक महत्वपूर्ण अंग है इसे दुनिया का पुलिस किया संयुक्त राष्ट्र का हृदय भी कहा जाता है।इसका प्रमुख कार्य दुनिया में शांति की स्थापना करना है। इसके लिए यह शांति को खतरा उत्पन्न करने वाले देशों के साथ बातचीत करता है तथा इस माध्यम से बात ना बनने पर यह आर्थिक प्रतिबंध जैसे कड़े कदम भी उठा सकता है। इस परिषद में पांच स्थाई तथा 10 अस्थाई सदस्य होते हैं पांच स्थाई सदस्य निम्न है- संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ग्रेट ब्रिटेन फ्रांस रूस चीन क्यों चुने जाते हैं अस्थाई सदस्य सुरक्षा परिषद में अस्थाई सदस्य चुनने का मकसद यह हो
